This NC Bill gives restaurants and bars a new opportunity to utilize to-go orders

Last summer, Roy Cooper signed a bill that was passed into law, which allows restaurants and bars to sell cocktails to go in sealed containers. (source) Several of our customers have been asking us questions about how to best package and deliver these drinks for to-go orders so we wanted to present a few packaging options and provide a few more details about the law and how it can help provide an additional product option for your customers.

WSOC Reports on the new law and how Charlotteans reacted

The law states that the cocktail drinks cannot exceed 24 ounces and that they must be alcoholic mixed drinks. The containers must be sealed and sold with food. Here are a few different packaging options worth considering for these drinks:

Clear Cups

We have clear drink cups that come with a dome lid that has no hole making it a sealed container that can be used for to-go cocktails. The no-hole dome lid fits on the 12-oz to 24-oz clear cups.

Foam Cups

There is no great sealed lid for the foam drink cups, but there are sealed lid options for foam squat cups. Our 16oz squat cup has a sealed lid that would be an option, as well as our 24oz squat cup, which also has a sealed lid option.

Plastic bottles

We also carry 16oz plastic bottles that come with sealed caps, which are another option for to-go cocktails.

As you can see there are multiple different directions you can discuss and think about packaging your product to meet the requirements of the new bill. Hopefully this helps as you look at which option works best for your business.
